We will hopefully see the launching of exciting additional murals in Chinatown in 2021!
Perhaps a City initiative like the CADA (Calgary Arts Development Authority) program is the answer. It’s time for something much like the Black Lives Matter or Beltline murals initiative to be created for next year.
Our team walked today through the alleyway behind the Canton Block on the east side of Centre Street between 2nd & 3rd Avenues SE. That walk really highlighted how murals can be an important part of street art and add vibrancy to our shared community.
The larger, the more visible, the better.
