Mural project – Community up-date: discussions are on ongoing. Work on the mural underway with the bold blue & cloud design already visible at this point. The key design elements will emerge shortly as the painters rush to avoid an adverse change in the weather. Organized by the Chinatown District Business Improvement Area, the August meeting reached a consensus agreement. A community generated suggestion for the south portion of the mural near 2nd Avenue SW is to be added by the Pink Flamingo group funding the project. A community forum is being organized to discuss the various proposed activities & longer term safety improvements to be made to the 1st Street & 2nd Avenue SW vacant land, corner site directly across from the Chinese Cultural Centre.
